Enthusiasts fearing that without internal combustion engines, cars are not as fun to drive. The Lotus Evora 414th Hybrid Concept is based on the same platform as the versatile Evora conventional model developed for electric and hybrid-powered sports car to show you, handling, feedback, and even the sounds of a high-performance sports car.
There are reasons for the unusual name Lotus Evora 414th Hybrid Concept and copper color scheme. The name comes from the 414-hp – “PS” for the horsepower, PS in German – the performance. Copper, a color associated with electrical systems, was chosen for the car inside and out.
Two independent motors drive both rear wheels via an integrated single-speed transmission in a common housing. Each engine has 204 hp (207 hp) and 295 pounds-feet of torque to each wheel. Now for electric and hybrid vehicles series, you can be connected to different torque of each driving wheel torque vectors for better performance. Besides a low speed maneuverability and easier parking, improved torque high-speed steering, Straight-Line Travel. Sensors side, it offers stability and steering control usually only by serious and expensive at the back, checking to automatically correct both understeer and oversteer.

A 17 kWh lithium-polymer battery in the middle line of the vehicle battery only driving range to 35 miles. For longer rides, driving a Lotus Range Extender engine generator power to the motors and battery charging. These 48 horsepower, 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine specially optimized for the series hybrid, and is on petrol and alcohol-based fuels to operate and offers a total range of 300 miles.
The aluminum monobloc engine, with its single casting for the cylinder head and exhaust manifold, means less weight, installation cost and package size and improved emissions and engine life. The integrated generator is used as an engine for the Range Extender engine. This hybrid sports car can accelerate 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds
Although only a single speed, the driver will be a simulated seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox experience with a fast dual-clutch gearbox. You hear the engine synthetic sounds that change in frequency with virtual gear selection and even feel the shock of gear changes. The gearbox can be simulated off for more relaxed driving.
Like most electric vehicles and hybrid cars, the Evora 414th hybrid regenerative braking, although in this case a more advanced version. The driver controls delay with simulated engine braking through a virtual downshift in the transmission. Unlike other regenerative braking, the driver has the right level of innovation in the simulation by means of resignation, two or even three courses. Both the simulated change of acceleration and deceleration noise is comparable to a conventional gearbox.
Not only that Evora 414th hybrid drive as a traditional sports car, it sounds like one with a driver-selectable tones belonging to the V-6 V-12 engines. Developed in partnership with Harman International, that produces sonic sounds HALO internal and external electronic sound synthesis engine within the system via the audio system. It also sounds from outside the vehicle through loudspeakers mounted on the front and rear, and thus serves as a warning to pedestrians, especially at lower speeds as it can be difficult for a vehicle with electric motors to hear.
